Forget Me Not Booklet

Hello, digi friends! Sorry it's been so long...I've been focusing more on my paper crafting blog!

BUT, I want to share with you what I am going to give to the sisters that I visit teach in November. I promised more, so here you go! Because I'm linking up to an online party, I wanted to explain how this is a scripture. In our church, we are led by a prophet and by apostles of Jesus Christ (as the church was during the time that Christ lived). We believe that the words that they speak are modern day scripture--just like the words that the ancient prophet and apostles spoke. Twice each year, we hold a General Conference and we get to hear from our general authorities. The words on these printables are from a special meeting for the women of the world from back in September. They are not "traditional" scripture, but they are scripture to me, and so this is why I am sharing it with you all! You can find the entire talk here. :)

I've included the original digital print, as I am going to use it as the front cover. There is also a quote page for each Forget Not, a question, and then an answer page that matches the quote/question page. This way, they can take the message into their lives in a more personal way. :)

I'm linking this up to a fabulous new link party at Little Birdie Blessings--join us, won't you?! Click on the image to make it bigger and print--these are yours FREE! :) I'll post pics of my finished project...hopefully. ;D Happy printing!

Forget Me Not by Pres. Uchtdorf

Last night I had the privilege to listen to the words of a modern day apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. His message was 5 things never to forget, and to help us remember, he reminded us of the forget me not and the five petals the flower has. These are the five things he wanted us to remember:

1. Forget not to be patient with yourself.
2. Forget not the difference between good and foolish sacrifices.
3. Forget not to be happy NOW.
4. Forget not the "why" of the gospel.
And
5. Forget not that the Lord loves you.

Because this talk is so dear to my heart, I have made this vintage printable to share with you all. Right click and save--left click for the full sized version. I hope it inspires you and reminds you that you are loved!

Also, I will be making printables of each of the 5 forget nots and going more in depth about them. I hope you'll come back and join me for those! Happy printing!

Keep Going!

I saw another printable on Pinterest today that said this, "Keep going. You are getting there". I NEEDED that today! But, I wanted the digital print to match my style so I could frame it and put it up in my room. So, I redid it. Isn't this just inspiring?! It will give me hope each time I read it. I'm so glad that I was guided to go to Pinterest today and someone else was guided to pin this saying. God is great!

In conjunction with this post, I'm gonna do Hoo Are You? #52!!!

Here are this week's questions!

1. Do you prefer to use a regular pencil or mechanical pencil?
Mechanical--they're less messy! 2. What is your favorite color in the crayon box?
This is a hard one...I like weird colors like cerulean and periwinkle or mac and cheese...I can't pick just one!!!
3. Bottled glue or glue stick?
Glue stick--they're less messy!
4. calculator or do it in your head?
Depends on the difficulty of the math--usually in my head... 5.Favorite subject while in High School?
Choir & history--I LOVE singing and I love learning about the past. Ooo, and English! I love reading! Yes, I'm a nerd...
Right click and save the digital print--this is yours for free! Happy printing!

Family

Family is really important to me. I love my husband more than ANYTHING in this world. My relationship with him is the most important relationship that I will ever have, if I play my cards right. Struggling with infertility is something that tears a lot of couples apart. We did not want to be that way. I am so thankful that he is my husband. I am so grateful for all that he does to help me out. Our marriage has only gotten stronger as we work through the stresses that life brings and I wouldn't have it any other way. That's why I made this printable. To remind me of the importance of family. Thanks to Dustybear for her wonderful elements as well as some other digi designers whose names I don't know. :) OH, right click and save--it's yours for FREE! ;D

August Visiting Teaching Message

On my other blog (On A Stampage), I explained what Visiting Teaching (VT) is. Each month, women from our church congregation go and visit 2-4 assigned women and check to see how everything is going. We are assigned companions to go with us, and it's just FUN! Anyway, each month there is a devotional to give and so I create little digital handouts to give to the women I visit. I also have given them picture frames so that they can keep it someplace that they can see is so they remember what the monthly devotional is. Anyway, right click and save--this is yours FREE! :) Happy printing!

BVT 119 Jeremiah 29:11

I love this verse! I cannot say that it is one that I am very familiar with, but as soon as I read it, I realized how important it was to me personally.

My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for over 6 years now (it feels so much longer) and have been blessed to do foster care for a year and to have 12 sweet children in our lives. The stress was too much for us, though, and we stopped doing foster care after a year. We started to take infertility medication and prayed for the best. The Lord has! NOW, we have a sweet little girl who we
Linkhave living with us and she is such a blessing! Reading this verse reminded me yet again that I am not the one in control and that God knows what is best for me! He will bless me with all the righteous desires of my heart! I just have to show forth great faith and put my trust in Him!

This is another freebie for you--right click and save! It measures 4.25"x5.5". Happy printing, and happy thanksgiving to our God!

BVT118 Matthew 11:28-30

This week's Bible Verse Thursday challenge is Matthew 11:28-19. We were told to create something that indicated restfulness. Before I show you my submission, I wanted to give a quick inspirational blip. Here goes...

Rest. Isn't that a lovely word? The Lord tells us, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest...and ye shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:28-29) He goes on to tell us that He can give us rest because His yoke is easy and that His burden is light. Why? Why does He say that His yoke is easy and His burden light when He took upon Himself all the sins, sickness and sorrows of all the children of God? One word: Love. He Loves us! I use the capital L, because His Love (aka charity) is perfect. Everything that we do can be easy if we do all in Love. Work done in Love can be the same as rest if we allow ourselves to feel Love for those we serve to envelop our lives.

Anyway, there it is. My feelings and thoughts on this scripture! And here is my submission, made with elements by Dustybear:

Right click and save--it's yours for free! It's a 5"x7" print size. I hope you're inspired today to take stock of your life and allow Christ's Love to lighten your yoke and your burdens. Happy living! :)

BVT117 The Admonition of Paul

My church's 13th Article of Faith reads, "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul..." I was really happy to find that this week's Bible Verse Thursday has to do with Paul's admonition! I find that when I stay safely in the guidelines of the gospel, I am so much happier, and this admonition helps give those guidelines! Above is my submission for the BVT117 challenge. I chose to use my new Stampin' Up! Cheerful Treat digital elements because this way, the colors match my August home decore and I can frame the printable and display it! I hope you can use this in your home--just right click and save the 6"x4" digital print. Happy printing!

Do It Anyway!

Wow. It's been almost a month since I last posted. It has been a crazy busy last few weeks! I have no poetic thoughts, so here's a thought that I LOVE. Attributed to Mother Teresa.

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Progressing

Has anyone else found that becoming a better person is hard? Because I sure have! I'm not saying it's not worth it, it just take a lot of time, effort, and patience. I am not the best example, but I do want to be better! So, here is a poem to share my journey!

Progressing
Mynnette Kitchen 4-4-2011

Growing pains are natural,
They help us learn and grow.
And hopefully our patience ends
With good qualities to show.

One step at a time,
Each and every day,
We show our progress to all around

And to Him to whom we pray.

What do your trials bring to you?
What is your life creating?
The choice is yours, the time is now!
Who do you wish to be emulating?

You Will Be Freed (What We Believe Series)

You Will Be Freed
Mynnette Kitchen 4-3-2011

When temptations, trials,
afflictions come,
Our hearts must turn
to the Holy One.

His life was lived
so that we may be
Cleansed from sin
eternally.

With faithful prayers
and broken hearts
the Atonement of Christ
can bring a clean start.

No sin too large,
No sin too small.
Our Savior Atoned
for one and all.

Come unto Him
and find your rest.
Repent, renew-
You will be blessed.

Infinite Power of Hope (What We Believe Series)

Infinite Power of Hope
Mynnette Kitchen 3-27-2011

Our Savior
Lived His life for us.
He died in Calvary,
A sacrifice for all our sins.
Now we can perfect be.

Our daily lives
Are filled with pain
But hope is always there!
Our hope in Christ can take us through
The sadness we all share.

Step by step,
With leaps of faith,
We can learn to be
Among those alive in God's own realm
And live with Him eternally.

Waiting

Life is about waiting. So is this poem... ;)

Waiting
Mynnette Kitchen 3-24-2011

I want it now
I don't want to wait!
I want it sooner
Rather than late.

I want what I want
Even if it's not what I need.
I want in now!
That's what I plead.

But now's not good
And I'm not in control.
So I'll just wait
Until it benefits my soul.

What We Believe Series Poetry

Just FYI for anyone reading my blog, I have decided that each Sunday I will do a "What We Believe" series poem. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we have a Youtube channel. I will be taking a movie from that site and writing a poem to go along with it. I hope you are inspired and uplifted by all that you read here, but especially each Sabbath Day.

He Will Give You Help (What We Believe Series)

He Will Give You Help
Mynnette Kitchen 2-27-2011

Our Savior lived and died for us,
A life of selfless sacrifice.
Through Him all mankind can be saved,
He conquered even our earthly grave.
The love and hope that from Christ we feel
Is strong enough, our wounds it heals.
Come unto Christ and live anew,
His words, His deeds to humbly do.

Chaos

Does your life EVER feel chaotic?! Mine has the past few weeks. I try to keep things uplifting, but it's been really hard the past month. I wonder if it's because February is a short month...anyway, here's a poem that expresses my feelings of chaos.

Chaos
Mynnette Kitchen 2-22-2011

Nothing seems to be going

exactly as it should.
My life just isn't becoming
what I think it could.
I try my hardest to be perfect,
but that is NOT how it goes.
Why do I try?!

Nothing ever turn out!

But not everything does.

Relief Society (What We Believe Series)

Relief Society is my church's women group. It was organized on March 17, 1842. All women ages 18 and up attend this class each week and we have monthly meetings as well. Our motto is "Charity never faileth" and we were organized on principle of faith and service. I am grateful to be a part of the Relief Society and so I was wanting to write a poem about it. Since I couldn't find the right words, I found one by somebody else.

Relief Society
Long a go in Nauvoo twenty sisters sat.
Side by side a rainbow of difference.
From the newest rose bud,
To the full mature bloom of womanhood.
Knitted together in faith, harmonised in aim.
They were sisters.
We too are known and loved by the same Father.
Striving to build the kingdom one family, one home at a time.
Much strength is drawn from our sisterhood.
Our sister stumbles as we have,
We reach to lift and steady her.
Tired and weary, yet not alone,
the courage, commitment and testimony of our sisters spurs us on.
Our Father's work to do.
Behold the handmaids of the Lord
We are his hands and through us
Charity never faileth.
